The 15th Annual The Word on the Street - National Book & Magazine Festival

This annual event is held in downtown Vancouver at the magnificent Vancouver Public Library.  I have attended this event for the last three years and I am looking forward to meeting my readers at this year's show.  This year's National Book & Magazine Festival takes place on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  For more information, click here to view The Word on The Street Website.  I will be located at the Village Tables:  Exhibitor V31 (Homer Street and Robson Street). 

Last year, with the wonderful sunshine, this event drew thousands of people out to wander about and visit the hundreds of exhibitors, and watch entertainment all day long.  I had the opportunity to talk with several readers and sale copies of my book,  Anastasia and The Ghostly Owl (The Choice Was Hers!) as well as The Sequel.  Additionally, my visitors were happy to take home free bookmarks I obtained from the National Clearinghouse on Family Violence, and they proudly took home a free Blue Ribbon I made to help promote awareness of Child Abuse Prevention.  Several visitors mentioned that they were unaware that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Blue Ribbon is the International Symbol for Child Abuse Prevention.  They commented that the ribbon needs to be worn year round to promote this awareness.  Other interesting visitors were Authors who were interested in learning more about self-publishing.

This year was also a great success with the beautiful sunshine drawing everyone to the library visiting the experienced as well as new exhibitors at this event.  I came home with a lighter suitcase, and thank those who purchased my book.  i gave out more flyers, bookmarks, and blue ribbons to continue to promote awareness of Child Abuse Prevention.

The 17th Annual Surrey International Writers' Association

The 17th Annual Event of The Surrey International Writers' Association is held at the Guildford Sheraton Hotel on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 23, 24, and 25, 2009.  I have attended this event for the last three years and I am looking forward to meeting my readers at this year's show.  For more informaiton, click here to view The Surrey International Writers' Association Website.  I will be in attendance at the Book Fair from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2009.  The Book Fair will be held in the Fraser Room at the Sheraton Hotel which is on the main floor.

The Surrey International Writers' Association was a huge success with many writers, authors, publishers, and publicists in attendance.  It was nice to meet some of my writing friends from previous years as well as meet new friends once again this year.  Thank you to everyone for your support in purchasing Anastasia and The Ghostly Owl (The Choice Was Hers!) as well as The Sequel.  I look forward to seeing you again this Fall 2009.
